Have you ever gone just a little too far?
Lexie Banks has.
Yep. She just had mind-blowing sex with her stepbrother. In her defense, she was on the rebound, and it’s more of a my-dad-happened-to-marry-a-woman-with-a-super-hot-son situation. But still, he’s been her best friend and confidant for the better part of the last few years … and is so off limits. It’s a good thing she’s leaving in two days for a year abroad in Rome.
But even thousands of miles away, Lexie can’t seem to escape trouble. Raised Catholic, she goes to confession in hopes of alleviating some of her guilt … and maybe not burning in hell. Instead, she stumbles out of the confessional and right into Alessandro Moretti, a young and very easy-on-the-eyes deacon … only eight months away from becoming a priest. Lexie and Alessandro grow closer, and when Alessandro’s signals start changing despite his vow of celibacy, she doesn’t know what to think. She’s torn between falling in love with the man she shouldn’t want and the man she can’t have. And she isn’t sure how she can live with herself either way.
Before we get started, I just wanted to warn you guys that this book is hot and steamy. It's so true to the title 'A Little Too Far'. But hey don't be scared away, yes it has sex in it (a lot of sex and the sex is a little bit graphic too) but that's not all the book is about. I promise. There's more to it so just hear me out, ok?
First of all, this book is hilarious. Lexie will make you laugh out laugh with all her awkward situations that she accidentally got herself into. She is funny and unique. I liked her right from the start. She's done some stupid things, went a little too far and then ran away from the problem. But I didn't find myself hate her or think she's just some airhead heroines. Lexie is just lost and confused when it comes to love. Like you may guess by the synopsis there will be a love triangle. I don't know if it can be counted as love triangle since we pretty much can guess who she will end up with. But still there's a part of me that hope she would somehow choose the other guy (kind of feel bad for him you know).
Secondly, the setting of this book is Rome, the Eternal city. It's Rome you guys >.< so you can expect there will be a lot of historical places, museums and not to mention the arts. I've learned so much and I just wanted to pack my bag and head to Rome. Living in the place surrounding by arts and historical heritage it somehow feels so romantic, peaceful and delightful.
Lastly, A Little Too Far is really a cute story and it surprised me too how much I loved this book. The characters are so real. Both of the guys are not the typical perfect hot guys that you mostly find in books (maybe Trent is but not Alessandro). They have their own flaws and they do make mistakes too.
Overall this really is a good book. It's an easy read and the plot will keep you entertaining from the beginning to the end. 'Have you ever gone just a little too far?' ==> such a dramatic question and I'm hooked right away. So totally recomended!!! And if you're fan of New Adult, I don't think you want to pass on this one.
