A thrilling novella from the Everneath series!
Jack is trapped for eternity in the Tunnels while Nikki has managed to evade Cole's grasp . . . for now. But Cole is more desperate than ever to find answers about Nikki, his best chance for taking over the throne of the underworld. How did she survive the Feed? Can Cole find another Forfeit like her who can survive it too?
Cole's quest leads him to the other side of the world, to a mysterious, dangerous society known as the Delphinians, whose price for information might be higher than Cole can pay—a price that could destroy Nikki. But when Cole attempts to steal the answers instead, his mission ends in disaster. Faced with centuries in a Delphinian dungeon, Cole is confronted with questions he's been too scared to ask himself: Is he really obsessed with the throne—or is he obsessed with Nikki? And can she really give him a new beginning as the Everneath's king . . . or will she instead bring about his tragic end?

Let's first talk about the cover, should we?
At first glance I loved it, so gorgeous and gave off somewhat a dark feeling. But as I've learn that it's the same cover as the second book, I'm a little bit disappointed. I wish they would have a new cover for this novella instead of using the same one.
OK now move on the the book itself, I would give this novella 5 stars if not because of the unrealistic escape from the Dephinian. What's the point of raving how great and dangerous they are when you can escape them that easy (burn down their house...seriously are those Fate who can see the future cannot predict their own death?) Beside that, the story began so smoothly and you can also find some funny moments here and there. You get a chance to learn more about Cole and the band member's backgrounds (not in much details but still enough so you can catch a glimpse of everyone else's life before they became an everliving. ) Alright if I continue I would spoil the whole novella so I should stop here.
