Q: How have your reading habits changed in the past few years? Did you get interested in a new genre? Do you read more? Less? Why do you think your habits changed, if they did.
Oh yes definitely. I've to say thanks to Goodreads because of Goodreads I've discovered more books which means I've read more books than ever (yay). Also for a few years now I've noticed that I've become draw to high fantasy, historical romance, fairy tale retelling ...etc... in another word it's just that I've read a lot of genres. I remember back when I was in high school I ONLY read contemporary (and I'm not talking about the reading that we've to read for our English class). Besides since I joined the book blogger community, I've read books that I wouldn't think I'd read in the first place because of the reviews from other bloggers =)
So how about you?
So how about you?
Hopping through. I forgot about historical romance. I got sucked into Sarah McLean and Julia Quinn last year based on my blogging friends' recommendations.

I've not read anything by Julia Quinn but I heard so amazing things about her books.
DeleteGoodreads is great. I love reading reviews and seeing what people think of a particular book. It often leads me to purchasing that book.

The only downside about reading reviews is that sometimes they have spoiler without a warning =/
DeleteVery true! Goodreads has changed my habits as well and being part of the bookish community has definitely exposed me to books I wouldn't have otherwise known about. :D Happy Friday!

Yay for Goodreads! I love Goodreads! We have quite an opposite experience. I used to like fantasy and all those other genres, but since blogging, I found out about contemporary romance, and that's all I read now! :Well, almost all I read now. ))

5 Perfect Ridge Stars: Maybe Someday
I've always loved historical romance and fairy tale retellings and STILL do! But now I tend to read a lot more contemporary romance on top of my PNR, urban fantasy, fantasy, paranromal, etc. :)

Goodreads is super addicting!! It's so easy to keep track of book titles I want to read when I'm in the library or bookstore.

Goodreads did the same for me...and then, of course, blogging. :) Happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteI agree, Goodreads has introduced me to so many new books and different genres that I normally wouldn't have tried. I love seeing honest opinions on books, both on GR and elsewhere, so you can have a good idea if it's something you'd be interested in.

Goodreads has indeed influenced some of my recent reading choices too :) It's been great as I would have not picked up some of these books otherwise. Happy Friday!

I've discovered a lot of new books because of Goodreads too! I'm more into contemporary stuff right now, but I'm also trying to be more open to other genres, because who knows, I might suddenly find something I like in there! Have a great weekend!
